DEAR PARTICIPANTS

Species survival depends on adaptation to the environment. Relations between species and environment are complex and problems need scientific observation to be resolved. Ecology is a branch of science which deals with and aims to such problems. As such ecology is a multidisciplinary study that develops intimate relationship with biology, chemistry, physics, agriculture, forestry, tourism, law and aquatic sciences.

Ecology Symposiums have been organized 7 times before with a national participation. We are honored to host first International Ecology Symposium at Erciyes University this year. This is going to be the first international ecology symposium series in Turkey. We are more than happy to host you at Erciyes University between 11 and 13 may of 2017. We are hoping to bring together all scholars of different disciplines with different levels working on ecological problems and issues. We wish to create friendly and productive atmosphere which may lead to further negotiation and cooperation.

We would also like to remind you that this symposium is held in one of the ancient city of Asurians who established the first trade colony here. The city was taken over by Turks 1067 after which it flourished. Kayseri was the second capital of Selchuk Empire and known as Dar-ul Feth (Gate of Victory). Then the town became the center of trade webs. Kayseri was one of the most significant and developed city of the Middle age with lots of hospitals, mosques, schools and baths. However, the city was subject to Mongol invasion and was devastated. The city became the center of saltpeter and textile during the Ottoman Empire. Today Kayseri is one of the important cities in industry, trade, education and agriculture with a population of almost one and half million people.

We have decided 20 topics in our symposium on which posters and papers will be presented. In addition, we have invited four plenary-speakers who are specialized in their own fields. We are hoping to invite more and different plenary-speakers in the process. We are holding the conference in the Faculty of Science building, a place easy to access. The faculty building has all the necessary equipment needed during the symposium. We are also giving information about accommodation, transportation and foods in the town in our (symposium) website. Feel free to contact us via contact-link in the website.

We are looking forward to meeting you in Kayseri between 11 and 13 May of 2017.
Sincerely,

Fatih DUMAN (Ph.D.)
